Community Consultation
Stakeholder and community consultation was key to the development of the Jacobite Discovery Project.
Working with GH Johnston Associates, Jacobite Cruises started with a blank canvas and, through a series of workshops, asked the community and stakeholders what they wanted to see on the site.
The ideas developed at the workshops formed the design brief. Jacobite the held a public competition where the stakeholders chose the design they felt most appropriate for the site from a selection of four. Many people gave their opinion on which architect should be appointed on this website.
Plans to involve those who are interested in the development of this exciting project haven’t come to an end now that Jacobite has planning permission. As soon the team have worked their way through the planning conditions they will let people know about construction plans and get stakeholders involved in further design, both of the centre and the landscape around it.
